Grandma Adam's Shrimp Creole

Shrimp Creole

1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
3 Tbsp oil (I use a little less)
1 1-lb. can tomatoes
1 8-oz. can tomato sauce
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. red pepper (I use less)
Dash of garlic salt
12 oz. cleaned cooked shrimp
1/2 cup green pepper, cut up

Cook onion and celery in hot oil until tender, but not brown. Add tomatoes, and next ingredients. Simmer uncovered 45 minutes. Add shrimp and green pepper. Cover and cook about 5 minutes. Serve with rice.
